Notations of Gradient

In vector calculus, the grad symbol is the vector calculus gradient operator. It is used to represent the grad function, which takes one argument which should be a scalar-valued function and returns a vector of functions.

Description of this symbol

Observations of Gradient

Put your observations here...

English gradient1-en.png

In the English book Mathematical Constant in page 219 we find that the gradient of \(f\) is donated in the example on the right.
Find the example in google books link

German gradient1-de.png

We find in the example on the right that the german book Rechenmethoden der Physik represents the gradient in page 206
and it is called 'Gradient' in German context.

Spanish gradient1-sp.png

The Spanish book Matemática discreta shows the gradient in page 77 and it is called 'Gradiente' in Spanish context.

gradient2_sp.png As we see on the right another example represents the gradient function in Spanish context.
